Kia KND-5 Concept, the all-new luxury sedan

Kia has unveiled their latest concept car which will be the company’s all-new luxury sedan. The concept is Kia KND-5. This car has made its debut at the Seoul Motor Show on 2 April and seen such a production ready.

Kia’s upcoming luxury sedan with codename of Kia VG is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 Lambda engine. This engine is strong enough delivering about 275 hp. The car’s dimension is similar to Honda Accord which is 4,945mm of length and 1,475mm of height. The both cars are slightly different in width; the KND-5 is 5mm wider than the Accord with 1,850mm width and has a 2,845mm wheelbase. Whether this is an indication that Kia KND-5 will be a serious competitor for Honda Accord?

Kia KND-5 Concept comes with features including body-colored door handles, panorama sun-roof, LED headlamps, and big 20-inch alloys.

Kia Forte LPI Hybrid: Kia’s First Hybrid

Kia Forte LPI Hybrid, the company’s first production hybrid car has been unveiled by the Korean carmaker in Korea. Kia Forte LPI Hybrid is also the first car to use the lithium polymer batteries in a hybrid and the Kia’s first with new Eco-Dynamics sub-brand.

Kia Forte LPI Hybrid will come to US dealerships later this year. It will be the replacement to the current Kia Spectra in US.

Kia Forte LPI Hybrid combines a small electric motor and a Liquefied Petroleum Injected engine to power it. The combined engine will deliver 124 HP with fuel consumption of 41 MPG. The electric motor of Kia Forte LPI Hybrid is supplied by the similar battery to the Chevy Volt, the lithium polymer (li-poly) battery which developed by LG Chem.

Kia also announced their Eco-Dynamics brand along with the launching of the company first production hybrid. The Eco-Dynamic Brand is design to be a green car. Kia has planned to sell the Eco-Dynamics-branded vehicles to global market. Meanwhile there is not yet information from Kia to bring its Eco-Dynamics to American market.

2010 Kia Soul Hatchback Pricing Released

Kia has finally released pricing for its 2010 Soul hatchback model in USA which start selling on july of 2009. Kia stylish car will be available starting at $13,995, including delivery charge. The entry level model is powered by a 120hp 1.6L engine that mated to manual transmission. The Soul+ version, powered by  a 140hp 2.0L engine and manual transmission is priced at $15,645. Then the 2.0L Soul! comes with two options, a manual trim at $17,645 and fully optioned variant at $18,595. The top of the line is Kia 2.0L Soul sport starting at $17,645 up to $19,295 with all options including a premium audio package ($400) and a power moonroof ($700).

2010 Kia Soul Hatchback’s dimensions including: a wheelbase of 100.4in, an overall length of 161.6in, an overall width of 70.3in and overall height of 63.4in. Suspension features a fully independent front with MacPherson struts and coil springs and twist-beam rear suspension system.  Wheel features 15in steel as standard, optinal include 16in alloy and 18in alloy. While the two engine, 1.6L unit and 2.0L have the same as 30mpg of fuel consumption.
