Mercedes-Benz FCell Concept: Tadition meets the feature

March 31, 2009 By: okhass Category: Cars, Classic Cars, Concept Cars, Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz FCell Concept meets the tradition of the past Mercedes-Benz and the modern technology, the emission-free fuel cell system located at the rear powering the car. Fitted with large spoked wheels, Mercedes-Benz FCell Concept is an allusion to the Benz Patent Motor Car from 1886. It features stylistic elements from diverse eras of automotive history, such as the carbon-fiber bucket seats with hand-stitched leather covers and the distinctively styled fiberglass front section, based on the component from the Formula One racing bolides.

The FCell Concept is driven by wire technology which a joystick acts replacing the conventional steering wheel. With a power rating of 1.2 kW from its free fuel cell system, the F-CELL Roadster reaches a top speed of 25 km/h and has an operating range of up to 350 km.

Thanks to the collaboration from the 150 trainees of DaimlerAG at the Sindelfingen Mercedes-Benz plant that had designed the artistic car.
